About Us Here At Heritage Well Service

Eric was born and raised in Aguanga and has been a life-long resident of the area. He graduated from Hamilton High School. After high school, he attended a few college courses at Palomar College including business and welding but mostly enjoyed working in the family business. Megan grew up in the Temecula area and graduated from Temecula Valley High School.

After high school, she attended UC Riverside and attained her BA in History/Social Science and then went on to get her teaching credential at Cal State San Marcos. She began her teaching career in Murrieta where she taught multiple grades. Eric and Megan met on a blind date soon after the New Year in 2000, shortly after the Y2 craze. They were introduced to each other through Eric's brother who was dating Megan's next-door neighbor. Their first date included dinner and a hockey game, and they have been together ever since. They were married in Temecula in July 2001, moving to Hemet after the wedding and back to Aguanga in 2003.

In 2002 Eric passed his contractor's exam and was granted a license. At that time, he was still working in his family's business as a driller and pump installer. On the weekends Eric and Megan built their clientele base by providing well inspection services for the purpose of escrow. In 2006 their son, Cole was born, and Megan took a year off to stay home and spend some time helping Eric as needed and raising their son. In 2007, Megan went back to teaching but moved to teach at a local school, Hamilton Elementary. At the same time, Eric took the business full-time, purchasing the pump-side of the business and some equipment from his parents who owned Aguanga Waterwell Services.

Business was slow in 2007-2009 as the economy took a hit with a recession. Nevertheless, Eric and Megan worked tirelessly to build their client base and brand. In 2012 they broadened their horizons and added a second pump truck and additional employees to service the needs of customers more quickly. By this time, the crew included Eric at the helm and a second pump installer. Megan worked for the business in the evenings doing bookkeeping duties. In 2014 the business had grown to a size that needed more supervision so Megan who had been working as an administrator for Hemet USD quit her position to work full-time in the business.

By 2014 the economy was much stronger and the business continued to grow. It was at this time that Eric wanted to get back into the well drilling business and began a search to purchase equipment and build the well drilling fleet. Eric found a rig mid-year 2015 and hired more crew members to assist in this new venture. At this time, they also set their sights on adding another pump truck to the fleet so to offer faster service timelines for customers. They ordered a new pump truck in late 2015 set for delivery

in 2016. By this time, the business had grown to 10 service employees and additional help was hired in the office. By 2016 their drilling client base had grown so much that they decided to add another drilling rig and support equipment to the business. Eric found another rig and had it and another crew up and running by October 2016.

The business was growing quickly, and additional staff were needed to handle supervisory duties and inspection services.

By 2017 the business had outgrown its yard at Eric and Megan's house and a new location was needed. Eric and Megan wanted to keep the business local and searched the Anza and Aguanga area for a location that would be suitable to the current and future needs of the business. They found a commercial space for sale in the summer of 2017 and quickly jumped at the chance to purchase it.

Renovations were done and the office space was built to house the growing staff and equipment. By December 2017 the business had moved to the new location in the town of Anza on Highway 371. This location would be more accessible for customers, vendors, employees and equipment.
