Heritage Well Service offers a complete range of well drilling services. Starting from the permit process all the way to proper flushing and development our crew has your project covered!
Here are some general steps to our well drilling process:
Planning and Budgeting:
Preparation is the key to success. Before we quote out your project we will review wells in your area that have been successfully completed. This helps guides our quoting process so that we are as accurate as possible. After reviewing local completed projects we will thoroughly plan out what we are going to do including determining proper specifications and design of the well to get you the water you need for your project. This process helps the well drilling and construction run smoother, reduces change orders during the project and keeps on budget.
Site Preparation:
We will decide what machinery and method are right for each particular project and act accordingly, using the proper machinery and tools for the job. Depending on the size of the project there may be little site-prep needed or whole roads built to access your site. There may also be drilling pads that need to be constructed, along with containment ponds. We will need to visit the site beforehand and have the site preparation specifications approved by the property owner.
Drilling:
Our drilling process really begins when your quote is developed. Using the information found on surrounding wells in the area we will make a drilling plan for each project. There are three specific methods of drilling that we provide, Mud-Rotary, Hard-Rock Air Drilling and Casing Advancement. The unique geology of your property dictates the method needed for your project. The drilling phase usually takes anywhere from one day to a week or longer depending on the size and complexity of the project.
Well Screen and Casing:
After the drilling is complete we will design a casing schedule unique to your well to make sure you take full advantage of every fracture of water available to you.
Flushing and Development:
Depending on your contract you might have a few hours or days quoted to flush and develop your newly drilled well. This process includes the installation of flush pipe inside of your casing and passing high pressure air through your well to push out water and any left over debris from the drilling process.
Well drilling provides your household with a consistent source of fresh water. The water is pure because it goes through a natural filtering process as it enters the aquifer. Public water supplies, by comparison, are usually treated with a variety of chemicals, including fluoride and chlorine, which can affect everything from taste to quality. For those who appreciate drinking water directly from the tap, installing a residential well is especially useful.
Prospective homeowners often appreciate the presence of a residential well, too. Scheduling regular well maintenance and treatments as needed will go a long way toward protecting the integrity of the system and your home’s water supply. Reducing dependency on public water sources also means that homeowners won’t have to worry about paying hefty water bills and associated fees every month.
After your initial water well drilling investment, it’s worth taking the time to care for the system properly. Routine appointments with a professional will ensure your well pump and pressure tank work properly. Technicians can also determine if there’s a problem with the system and perform repairs before it becomes a more costly job.
The life span of your water well drilling investment depends largely on how often the well pump cycles. If your household water consumption is especially high, you will likely find that the system needs more maintenance or occasional repairs. Large motors can also prolong the life of a well. Installing a water treatment system can help protect the integrity of the system by reducing sediment buildup that affects the water’s quality.
